Materials list:

  • Light bulb
  • Craft paints - white, red, black, yellow, brown
  • Paintbrushes - 1 small one large
  • Craft or floral wire about 12" long
  • Baby sock
  • Quick-drying glue
  • Scissors
  • Needle and thread
 Paint with 2 coats and mark eyes and nose

1. Paint the glass part white - two coats

2. Paint in eyes, nose, mouth, and tree-limb type arms, leaving space at the top of the glass for the hat rim and the scarf.

 Cutting sock off 3. Cut the top off the sock, long enough to allow for covering the metal and stitching the top together.
 Finish securing ther sock  

4. Place the sock top inside-out, down over the metal, placing it so that any decoration on the sock will show when it is pulled up.

5. Place one end of the wire around the sock top where the glass meets the metal, and twist tight. Place the other end of the wire around the same place, in the opposite direction so that there is a loop (for hanging the ornament) over the end of the bulb, and twist it tight.

6. Twist the loop tight around the end of the bulb.
