Worm Your Way Into Composting!

Setting Up Your Worm Bin

bedding, container, and garden fork

Worm bedding, water and food are all you need to set up a worm bin. Store kitchen scraps in a plastic bucket before moving them to your worm bin. Make sure it has a lid to prevent odors and fruit flies from invading your kitchen. A garden fork or trowel can be used to bury the food scraps when you add them to the worm bin.

Worms do best in temperatures ranging from 40 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Find a cool shady spot for your worm bin. Under the kitchen sink or in the garage are good spots.
