The Department conducted 6 CEM Workshops throughout the state from January through March of 2007. The free workshops provided an opportunity to help individuals to better understand and comply with DEP requirements for installing, operating, and reporting data from CEMSs. Those in attendance were also given the opportunity to ask questions and discuss CEMS issues with DEP personnel from the Central and Regional Offices.
There were a number of substantive revisions to the Manual, which include the use of a new electronic reporting format and the addition of a recertification guidance attachment. The owners or operators of all sources that operate CEMSs in Pennsylvania are required to become compliant with the guidelines of Revision 8 of the Manual.
The workshops were designed as an introduction or refresher for any company representative operating CEMSs in Pennsylvania. The information presented specifically applied to personnel directly responsible for operating the source, preparing or submitting the quarterly reports, or interacting with DEP on these issues. Companies also sponsored consultants or vendors who work with them on their CEMSs.
Below is a list of the presentations that were conducted at the Central Office location in Harrisburg. For more information, questions, or comments, please contact Charles Zadakis at (717) 772-3944.
