Monitoring Toxic Pollutants

Bangor Toxic Monitoring Site

Example of a canister sampler used at the Bangor toxic site. The canister sampler is enclosed in this type of shelter.

As part of an agreement between Roche Vitamins Inc. and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, an ambient air monitoring program was established in the vicinity of the town of Belvidere, New Jersey.

The Pennsylvania DEP agreed to participate by monitoring for toxics upwind of Belvidere, near the town of Bangor, Pa. The purpose of the monitoring was to obtain and report air quality information in the area and compare to appropriate federal or state standards.

Project ended 1/26/06. See the Warren-Northampton Regional Air Quality Advisory Panel web site for more information on this study.
