and yet More Recycled Christmas Ornaments

3 Christmas stars recycled from Sweet Gum seed balls These Christmas stars are made from seed balls from the Sweet Gum Tree (EXIT to another web siteLiquidambar styraciflua). You should be able to find them in the fall and winter around a tree, or they can be found in craft stores. First, wrap a fine wire around the ball, leaving a long end so you can attach a hook later. The simply glue a toothpick into each hole in the ball using a tacky glue that will dry clear. In these examples, we used whole toothpicks, 3/4 length toothpicks, and half toothpicks (simply tear or cut them to size). Finally, attach an ornament hook to the wire and hang.
2 ornaments made from beer bottle caps arranged in a circle Even beer or soft drink bottle caps can make great ornaments! Simply arrange 7 caps in a circle, turning some upside-down so they fit together tightly. Then glue them together using hot melt glue. Glue and tie some ribbon around the edge and add some wire for hanging. You could add glitter or other decorations as desired.
