These Christmas stars are made from seed balls from the
Sweet Gum Tree ( Liquidambar
styraciflua). You should be able to find them in the fall and winter
around a tree, or they can be found in craft stores. First, wrap a fine
wire around the ball, leaving a long end so you can attach a hook later.
The simply glue a toothpick into each hole in the ball using a tacky glue
that will dry clear. In these examples, we used whole toothpicks, 3/4
length toothpicks, and half toothpicks (simply tear or cut them to size).
Finally, attach an ornament hook to the wire and hang. |
