Marketplace Profile - RecycALL

RecycALL Inc. was formed in March 1998 as a Pennsylvania corporation. The company’s headquarters and processing center is located on the former Gustafson Chipper Mill property on US Route 155 south of Port Allegany, Pennsylvania. The company has dedicated itself to the collection and purchase of recyclable materials and to their re-manufacturing into salable products.

piles of glass culletThe company operates a recycled glass processing plant and a local glass recycling collection center. RecycALL began processing glass in 1998 outdoors using retrofitted wood chipping equipment and manual labor. In 2000, RecycALL purchased a 13.5-acre site and 10,000 square foot building, which offered convenience to commercial carries as well as access to an existing rail siding.

In 2002, the company completed up-grading its processing plant to increase the plant’s capabilities seven fold. RecycALL purchases clear, amber and green-sorted glass from regional municipalities as well as from material recycling facilities (MRFs) across the state. The glass is run through a crushing and cleaning process that removes any contaminants and creates a uniform size glass cullet. The glass is then run through a series of air classifiers, magnets and screens were metal and other contaminants are removed producing a top quality material for sale.

big pile of finely ground glassRecycALL also accepts mixed broken glass cullet at a small cost. This material is then processed into sand, which is marked for a number of different uses. RecycALL is currently looking into other uses for the sand and mixed cullet in hopes of increasing the volume of material that it handles.

RecycALL believes that the use of its recycled glass cullet is more economical, efficient and effective than the use of raw materials. To date the company has been able to market a large amount of its material locally. The company also believes that a huge opportunity exists in today’s market for the creation of a manufacturing facility that will process recycled materials in a new and innovative manner.
