State Recycling Associations

PROP <http://www.proprecycles.org/> The Professional Recyclers of Pennsylvania (PROP) is a non-profit association of recycling professionals dedicated to promoting and enhancing the interests of recycling and recycling programs in Pennsylvania through education, information exchange, technical support, applied research and coordination of recycling industry initiatives. Recognizing this, DEP created the Small Business Assistance Program. This program assists small businesses with regulatory compliance, provides information about cost saving pollution prevention practices, and ensures that small business are considered when new regulations are developed.

Pennsylvania Business Resources <http://www.paopen4business.state.pa.us/> "PA Open for Business" is the result of the Commonwealth's goal to make Pennsylvania the easiest place in the world to start, sustain and expand a business. This web site gives entrepreneurs "one door" to access business information, explore financial options and download or complete many of the important forms necessary to start and grow a business. With each new phase, the site is expanded to increase the support and on-line features available for the business community.

Small Business Development Centers <http://www.pasbdc.org/> By combining professional business expertise and the resources of colleges and universities, Pennsylvania’s SBDCs work with small firms to help them compete and grow. Services include one-on-one business management consulting, information, educational programs, and more.

Manufacturing Extension Partnership <http://www.mep.nist.gov/> MEP is a nationwide network of not-for-profit Centers in over 400 locations nationwide, whose sole purpose is to provide small and medium-sized manufacturers with the help they need to succeed. The Centers, serving all 50 States, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, are linked together through the Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology. That makes it possible for even the smallest firms to tap into the expertise of knowledgeable manufacturing and business specialists all over the U.S. These are people who have had experience on manufacturing floors and in plant operations. They’ve been where you are today. And they’ve lived to tell about it!.
