Pollution Prevention/Energy Efficiency
Recent Site Visits

Pittsburgh Brewing Company: DEP staff originally visited Pittsburgh Brewing Company on October 2001 to review its pollution prevention measures in an effort to lower the brewery's water use and sewer bill. Pittsburgh Brewing acted on the site visit recommendations by applying for and receiving a site assessment grant so as to further evaluate the plant's needs. The combined recommendations from DEP and consultant saved 15 million gallons of water a year and $150,000 a year. The brewery is not done. They are currently upgrading other systems and considering implementing more suggestions.
