Wood-Mode -- Kreamer, PA, September 20, 2002:
Wood-Mode
, a manufacturer of fine custom cabinetry recently hosted a P2E2 site visit on September 20, 2002 at their production plant located in Kreamer, PA. T he visit was guided by Mr. Mike Ludecker, and Jason Dagle. During the visit DEP viewed many P2 and E2 friendly efforts including the replacement of disposable coating booth filters with reusable filters, the testing of an automatic coating spray gun washer, an interest in improving coating application transfer efficiency, and improvements in wood utilization. Appearing in the group photo, from left, are: William Parsons, DEP Assistant Regional Director, Bill Foreman, OETD Specialist, James Young, OETD Regional Manager, Mike Ludecker, Wood-Mode Environmental Manager. Ric Illig, Environmental Protection Specialist was operating the camera.

A sanding belt cleaner extends the useful life of belts and reduces waste...compare the clean belt to the used belt on the left. Wood-Mode staff are evaluating new technologies to extending sanding belt life, and reduce costs as well as waste generation.
