Instream Flow Studies
Pennsylvania and Maryland

Final and Summary Report

Following a 4-year, multi-agency study of about 100 streams in Pennsylvania and Maryland, the Susquehanna River Basin Commission (SRBC) has released a report detailing the study findings of a new procedure for evaluating impacts of withdrawals on fishery habitat. The purpose of the project was to develop a procedure for determining instream flow needs for streams with naturally-reproducing trout populations in portions of Pennsylvania and Maryland.

SRBC acted as project coordinator, with DEP, SRBC, Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Maryland Department of the Environment and the Chesapeake Bay Program providing funding.
