DIESEL APPLICATION APPROVAL PROCESS

Pennsylvania Act 182 of 1996 became effective February 28, 1997. This Act amended the Pennsylvania Bituminous Coal Mine Act by adding an Article II-A, titled "Diesel-Powered Equipment."

The Act requires that all diesel-powered equipment and the use of diesel-powered equipment in any bituminous underground coal mine must be approved by the Department. The bureau has developed an application process to assist with the submittal of an acceptable application.

Completed applications (4 copies) should be submitted to:
