  • Is there a local group that have water resources plan, it so we need identify.
  • Need to identify areas impacted from abandoned mines both limestone and coal.
  • Need to identify areas where more than one industrial user is present (2 or more power plants).
  • Need to consider more dams and storage capacity for the basin (in particular to help alleviate in periods of drought).
  • Calculating water recharge. (Rates, worth, and protection measures).
  • Need to change philosophy of managing water as a problem as opposed to a resource (i.e. E & S Plan and Stormwater [MS4s]).
  • Current state of the AMD Treatment Programs.
  • Consider water as a recreation driver boating, fishing, swimming, and riverfront parks).
  • Identify the dollar value of forestland to water quality and quantity.
  • Review all previous water resource related documents located on the Internet, including all legal reviews, and post comments from an Advisory Panel, from pervious works.
  • Need better mapping on the basin including land and water uses, water intakes, NPDES dischargers, and locks and dams.
  • Need to identify precipitation trends.
  • Identify land use issues according to updated county comprehensive plans relative to potential economic development that cannot be synthesized by infrastructure.
  • Local planning input from County Planning agencies that could be reflected in the state water plan.
  • Groundwater conservation as part of total water planning in Pennsylvania.
  • Water privatization issues.
  • Sale of water throughout PA.
  • Roles that water reclamation can play in regulating future consumption? Roles state government can play in providing economic incentives favoring reclamation.
  • Agricultural water needs becoming greater during drought conditions. Need to consider how to handles users demands that are not every year.
  • Permit Fees.
  • Address usage estimations and acceptability of the estimations for agriculture.
  • Between meetings outline work that the committee members and DEP should be doing to enhance the efforts. Announce prior to adjourning each meeting.
