Water/Wastewater Math Calculator
Treatment Unit Efficiency Calculator (Wastewater)

Return to Operator Information Center

DEP Home

This calculator can calculate how efficiently a treatment unit (or entire treatment process) is working. It will calculate pounds in, pounds out, pounds removed and percent removal. You will need to enter data for flow, influent and effluent values (BOD, TSS, NH3-N, Etc.) to calculate removal efficiency. See the Lab manual for information on testing

Formula:

(F x I) x 8.34
=Influent Lbs.

***

(F x E) x 8.34
=Effluent Lbs.

***

Inf lbs - Eff Lbs
=Lbs Removed

***

Lbs Rem / Inf Lbs
x 100
= % Removal

Enter the treatment unit Flow MGD
(millions of gallons per day)
(example 2000 gallons per day = .002 MGD)
